Shell Argina S3 is an advanced multifunctional crankcase lubricant designed for highly rated medium-speed diesel engines using residual, blended, or distillate fuels. It is suitable for conditions of moderate oil stress often found in newer engine designs less than 10 years old, where oil consumption exceeds 1 g/kWh, load factors are below 85%, and fuel sulfur levels are below 3%. Additionally, Shell Argina S3 can also be utilized in marine engine reduction gears and other ship-board applications where specialized lubricants are unnecessary.
