Shell Argina S3 40 209L Shell is a high-performance multifunctional crankcase lubricant designed for highly rated medium-speed diesel engines operating on residual, blended, or distillate fuels. Engineered for conditions of moderate oil stress, it is ideal for operational scenarios in newer engine designs (less than 10 years old) where oil consumption is greater than 1 g/kWh, load factors are below 85%, and sulfur content in fuels is less than 3%. It can also be used in marine engine reduction gears and other shipboard applications where specialist lubricants are not required.
